World Heritage Site Mentoring and Grant programme for Wrexham County Borough Council

(August 2011)

Barsby Associates are delighted at being awarded the contract by Wrexham County Borough Council to deliver The World Heritage Site Mentoring and Grant Programme.

The team of associates who have collaborated so well on the Flintshire County ÔÇťAchieving the Potential of Tourism Mentoring and Grant programme fought off a number of interested parties to win the contract which runs until the end of 2013.

Wrexham County Borough Council has created a world Heritage site Business Club to ensure those seeking grant and mentoring support fully appreciate the potential impact of the World Heritage Site of tourism development for the county.

Approximately 200,000 visitors make the journey to Pontcysyllte Aqueduct each year and it is hoped the programme will be instrumental in driving numbers closer to the potential capacity of 500,000 as identified by UNESCO so that the whole area can reap the associated economic benefits.

We look forward to working with lead officer Vicky Mathie and her colleagues at Wrexham County Borough Council assisting individuals and their enterprises achieve their goals through our mentoring and the additional support available of grants via the WHS programme.
